We provide clients with a professional construction service by utilising the high level of skills within our teams, this in turn allows us to be flexible in the type of works we do.

PRE-CONTRACT

At ME Construction we understand the importance to the Client and benefit to the project of maximising the period prior to the start of any project. We employ a dedicated manager to ensure all the pre-contract functions are executed in an expeditiously, including:

  • Development of the tender programme into a buildable construction programme
  • Production of the procurement schedule and strategy
  • Completion of the logistics plan including access, egress, material movement & waste disposal
  • production of detailed scaffold and temporary electrics schedules
  • Obtaining, in a timely manner, the scaffold & hoarding license, road closures and parking suspensions
  • Provision of build-ability advice
  • Design development and advice
  • Cost planning, control and benchmarking
  • Early key specialist subcontractor involvement

 

VALUATIONS

On pre agreed dates ME Construction will meet with the Client appointed Quantity Surveyor to agree the monthly valuations. We will in advance agree the format of the valuations. Each interim valuation will be accompanied by an estimated rolling final account, providing the Client and team with accurate regular forecasts.

PROGRAMMING

We realise that in order for a project to be a success it needs to have a clearly defined method and sequence of works which can be easily monitored by all, to this end we provide a detailed yet simple to use and easy to follow construction programme. This programme is communicated to all the relevant parties.

FINANCIAL CONTROL

Our primary objectives of cost control are to:

  • Keep the relevant parties informed at all stages, of the cost to date and forecast the projected out turn cost
  • Identify early variations to the contract and advise on any time/cost implications promptly

 

Solid relationships can only be achieved if all team members believe they can operate in an open forum in a fair and reasonable manner, where the key criteria are the client's project objectives

FINAL ACCOUNT

Our rolling Final Account is issued monthly, ensuring the design team and client are fully aware of the intended out-turn cost of the scheme. This ensures that the agreement of the Final Account shortly after Practical Completion.

The aim is to ensure, with clear and regular communication, resolution of all commercial aspects of the project. The procedures identified above for cost and change control, together with good regular communication between all parties, ensure swift agreement of the Final Account.

We employ specialist subcontractors whom the management team have known and worked with over a number of years. These specialist contractors are involved at an early stage to provide programme and buildability advice.
